Light & Life West was founded in 2003 as the 6th church plant from Light and Life North in their vision “Mission 2010.” "Mission 2010" was the Vision of Pastor Larry Walkemeyer and Light and Life North Church to plant a church in each of the city council districts in Long Beach. West was commissioned to District 7. October 30, 2016, West purchased and moved into a new building at 6465 Cherry Avenue, Long Beach, Ca. Before we became a church plant, we held a Saturday night service called “Urban Praise.” In September of 2003, a core team of approximately 80 adults (comprised of leaders and regular attendees of the Urban Praise service) trusted God in being the heart of God in another section of our wonderful city of Long Beach.
